1200 in North America who use Gruber Systems molds.
Local manufacturers can be found in the Yellow
Pages under "Marble, Cultured" or by calling Gruber
Systems. Manufacturers whose products are NAHB
Certified can be identified by calling the NAHB
Research Center, at (800) 638-8556. The
manufacturer members of the International Cast
Polymer Association (ICPA) can be found by calling
(703) 610-9034.
NOTE **
NOTE ** Delete all but one of the following three
paragraphs. Insert local manufacturer names if
desired.
A. Provide products made by manufacturer who uses molds made
by Gruber Systems, Inc., 25636 Avenue Stanford, Valencia,
CA 91355; Tel: (805) 257-4060; Fax: (805) 257-4791.
B. Provide products made by manufacturer who participates in

2. __________.
3. __________.
NOTE ** Use the following paragraph only if manufacturer
names are listed and only if no substitutions will
be permitted.
D. Substitutions will not be permitted.
2.2 BATHTUBS
A. Bathtubs: Solid plastic, made of polyester resin and
inert fillers, with polyester gel coat surface, gravity
molded in inner and outer molds; complying with ANSI
Z124.1 and addenda.
1. Gel coat thickness: 0.017 to 0.020 inch, minimum.
2. Fixture wall thickness: 1/2 inch, minimum.
NOTE ** Delete all but one of the following color
descriptions. If more than one tub is required and
colors will be different, add the color
identification to each type included below.
3. Color: As selected from manufacturer's standard
range.
4. Color: _________.
5. Color: As indicated for each type.
NOTE ** Delete one of the following filler descriptions.
NOTE **
NOTE ** Standard filler is calcium carbonate which imparts
no pattern or texture to the product, but when
mixed with pigments can produce a marble-like
effect which may be opaque. When aluminum
trihydrate filler is used together with pigments,
an onyx-like effect is created which is
translucent.
6. Filler: Manufacturer's standard.
NOTE ** Gruber Granatex gives the product a fine- or large-
chip appearance depending on the color and type
selected, producing a granite-like effect. Each
manufacturer has his own formula for resin and
filler, usually adapted to the climate in which the
product is manufactured. Custom color production
capability is available.
7. Filler: Gruber Granatex, providing "granite"-like
appearance; color as selected from Gruber's full
range.
8. Shape(s): As indicated below, made by using Gruber
Systems, Inc. molds; mold numbers noted as "MK __."
NOTE ** The following articles cover the bathtub types,
grouped by general type for ease of selection.
After selection of the tub required, it will
usually be appropriate to eliminate the group
headings "BATHTUBS - SELF-RIMMING," etc., leaving
the tub required under the heading "BATHTUBS" with
the general specifications.
NOTE **
NOTE ** If only one bathtub is required, it may be
unnecessary to use the Type designations "Bathtub
BT-___". In that case, simply delete the "BT-___."
2.3 BATHTUBS - SELF-RIMMING
NOTE ** Self-rimming bathtubs are designed to be set into a
deck of cast polymer or other construction, which
can be the floor or a raised "island." For tubs
that need to be set tight to walls, the integral
(flat) deck type is better.
NOTE **
NOTE ** If not otherwise indicated, all oblong tubs are non-
handed -- they can be either lefthand or righthand,
based on drain location.
